About the Founder
Meet Sherrie Lawyer, the founder of Cover’d House. Born and raised in Philadelphia, pennsylvania Sherrie has always been passionate about youth, education, and community. After earning a bachelor’s degree in educational facilitation, she spent four years living and teaching English in Southeast Asia—an experience that deepened her global perspective and reinforced her belief in the power of culturally responsive education. Upon returning to the U.S., Sherrie recognized gaps in the school system, especially in communities like the ones she grew up in.
Cover’d House was created to help fill those gaps by providing youth with mentorship, enrichment, and a safe space to build confidence, identity, and purpose.
